Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has insisted that his team will have to win the UEFA Champions League (UCL) trophy if they want to be considered one of the greatest of all time.
The Citizens have monopolized the English Premier League (EPL) and won five league titles in the last six seasons since the Spanish tactician arrived at the Etihad.
However, despite their dominance in the league and other local cup competitions, the Manchester club are yet to win a UCL trophy and it had led to a debate over if City are of the best teams in football history.

Speaking on the issue after their 1-0 win over north London club, Chelsea on Sunday, Guardiola said his team will have to win a Champions League trophy first to be labelled a great team.
He said: “I have the feeling we’ve done something exceptional, but to be considered one of the greatest [teams] we have to win the Champions League, otherwise it’s not complete,”
Meanwhile, Man City after annihilating La Liga giants, Real Madrid at the semi-final stage of the Champions League recently, will now face Serie A’s Inter Milan in the final on June 10 at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium, Istanbul, Turkey
Before that, they will also play the FA Cup final against local rivals, Manchester United at the iconic Wembley Stadium on June 3.
