Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has described the fact that his goal merchant, Erling Haaland will miss the 2022 World Cup in Qatar as an “unfortunate” situation.
Haaland will not be at the global soccer fiesta because his country, Norway failed to qualify as one of the European representatives at the tournament.
He made the comment while revealing his plans for members of the Manchester City squad who will be left behind at the Etihad Stadium when the 2022 edition of the World Cup kicks off in November.
Guardiola said, “Maybe for ten days or two weeks we will go off and be with family then come back.

“Then two weeks to reignite our rhythm after the World Cup.”
The Spaniard, after lamenting Haaland’s absence at the global soccer Mundial, hoped the Norway international would be able to participate and show his talent in the Euros in 2024.
“Erling would prefer to go to the World Cup with Norway but unfortunately he cannot go. But two years there’s the Euros and now he can focus on his club,” he added.
