Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has admitted that he and his players are at risk of crashing out of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) at the group stage this season.

The English Premier League (EPL) champions are currently sitting in the 22nd position on the UCL log table.

They have won only two out of their six matches in the competition so far this term and have only two more games to redeem themselves.

Addressing the development at the pre-match press conference ahead of his team’s Premier League home clash with Everton, Guardiola admitted that his side may not advance to the group stage of the competition this year.

He added that he and his players must win their remaining games to stand a chance of progressing to the next stage.

Guadiola said, “Right now, we are at the risk of not qualifying for the Champions League… of course we are! Definitely we are.

“We have to get points and win games otherwise we will not qualify for the Champions League!”.

Man City’s next Champions League tie is against Paris Saint-Germain in France on January 22.

They will then welcome Club Brugge to the Etihad Stadium on January 29 for their final group game in the competition.
