A group of concerned Yoruba sons and daughters in the Diaspora has called on Yoruba Monarchs who are giving the Hausa/Fulanis Chieftaincy titles in Yoruba towns and villages to cease and desist.
Reminding the Monarchs of the history of how Ilorin became a Fulani dominated land, the Concerned Yoruba Indigenes in Diaspora in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ajalekoko Ojo in Akure, the Ondo State Capital pleaded with those Obas to stop the unpatriotic conducts that have the tendency to frustrate the Yoruba aspirations to have their own free nation.
It stated: “We will resist any attempt by any Yoruba Oba to “sell” our God-given heritage to foreigners whose preoccupation is to subjugate other ethnic groups.”

Blaming these Obas for the spate of kidnappings, raping, maiming, extortions and killings allegedly by the Hausa/Fulanis, the group said it is high time for the indigenes to begin the work of a Watchdog.
“No Oba would be allowed to trade our welfare and independence for money, herds of cows and big contracts from Abuja. Our heritage is not for sale. Any plan to install Sarkin Hausawa in the Yoruba Nation would be resisted. We Yoruba want our own nation, our own independence, and our own government totally free from the domination of the Hausa/Fulanis.”
Cautioning the South-West Governors and Monarchs to stop hobnobbing with unprogressive Politicians, they said that instead, they need to work together with Yoruba indigenes for the recovery and rebuilding of Yoruba noble land that has for long suffered allegedly at the hand of the Hausa/Fulani dominated government of Nigeria.
“The group is hereby sending a direct message to the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba (Dr) Rufus Adeyemo Adejugbe Aladesanmi III to cease and desist from his planned installation of Alhaj Abdul Yusuf as Sarkin Hausawa of Ado Ekiti in Ekiti State.
“We are sending the same warnings to any Oba with such present or future intentions to perish the thought. We the people supported your installations and we the people can call you out on your excesses.”
They however asked a rhetorical question – Why should our land become a shared property of the Hausa/Fulani community that would warrant the installation of Sarkin Hausawa in the Southwest?
“The Hausa/Fulanization agenda to conquer our land is not hidden and they are using every method in the book to work towards perfecting the agenda. We do not want our Monarchs to be sucked in by whatever method they may be using. The policy of bamubamu ni mo yo must come to an end in our Yorubaland,” it added.
