The South-South, South-East People’s United Forum has hailed the verdict of the Appeal Court in recognizing Oladipupo Adebutu as the authentic Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Ogun State.
The group, which is the umbrella body of the people of all the states in the South-South and South-East resident in Ifo Constituency II in Ogun State, said Adebutu’s victory at the Appeal Court has further confirmed that truth no matter how long, will always prevail.
Recall that the Court of Appeal, Ibadan division today, November 28, sets aside the judgment of Justice O. Oguntoyinbo of the Federal High court delivered on 27th September, 2022 in favour of Prince Segun Seriki.
The appellate court dismissed the objection of Prince Segun Seriki claiming non personal service of notice of appeal, after which the appellate court went to the merits of the substantive matter.

In the judgment, the court affirmed that only a National body of the party can nominate and conduct a primary election of the party.
The South-South, South-East People’s United Forum in a statement by Chief John Edosa Odiase, Augustine Ugbah Destiny Nwoba, Osuji Okechukwu and Richard Oyakhire all from different wards in Ifo Constituency II, also restated their support for the PDP candidate in the area, Hon. Abdulfatai Adewunmi Adewunmi, and other PDP candidates in the 2023 election.
The group said they remain committed in working for the PDP to secure victory for all its candidates in the forth coming election.
