Gov Lawal says notorious bandit, Bello Turji ‘ll soon be eliminated

Gov Lawal said so after the Nigerian military killed another notorious bandit, Sububu, who has been terrorising  Zamfara State

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal on Monday said it’s a matter of time before a wanted bandit leader, Bello Turji is either apprehended or killed by the Nigerian security agencies.

Gov Lawal stated this while featuring on Channels Television’s programme, ‘Politics Today’, where he expressed optimism that the reign of terror unleashed on his state and its environs by bandits will soon come to an end.

His assurance comes days after the Nigerian military made significant gains against bandits, killing wanted bandit leader Halilu Sububu, who had been terrorising citizens in Zamfara, Sokoto and other parts of the North-West.

During the operation, Sububu and more than 30 of his men were killed during a gun duel.

Asked when the nefarious activities of  the notorious bandits will likely come to an end, Gov Lawal said, “With what we have in place, with the collaboration between us (the state government) and the Federal Government, security agencies, believe me, it is only a matter of time; Turji would be killed very, very soon.”
