Founder of Global Creative Legal Summit (GCLS), Oyinkansola Foza Fawehinmi, has explained the reason for a summit that brings lawyers and stakeholders in the creative industry together.

She said the summit, billed for September 17 at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos, aims to increase the capacity of lawyers within the creative sector, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate the complex legal landscape.

The theme, “Creative Industry and the Law: Unleashing Africa’s Creative Economy Potential through Innovative Legal Knowledge and Solutions,” will serve as a vital platform for showcasing legal expertise, laws, policies, and the legal infrastructure of the creative industry in Africa.

Fawehinmi said: “The summit aims to bridge the gap between creative professionals and legal experts, fostering a collaborative environment that will empower both sectors to thrive.

“The GCLS envisions cultivating an inclusive and accessible global ecosystem where legal minds and creatives collaborate to unlock the full potential of creative expression in Africa.

“Through shared knowledge and empowered action, the summit aspires to create a future where legal understanding fuels boundless African creativity across the globe.

“Our mission is to bridge the legal knowledge gap within the diverse creative landscape. By fostering an inclusive and accessible environment at the Creative Legal Summit, we provide a platform for collaborative workshops, expert-led master classes, engaging speakers, and readily available resources.”

The summit will include collaborative workshops with interactive sessions to facilitate knowledge sharing between legal professionals and creative and master classes where industry leaders will provide insights into the latest legal trends affecting the creative sector.
