Gambo out of hospital

-

Rivers United players visited Kano Pillars striker, Gambo Mohammed, before he was discharged from hospital on Tuesday, April 26.
Gambo was taken to hospital on Sunday after suffering a rupture of the tympanic membrane in the matchday 12 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clash against Rivers United.
Gambo clashed in mid-air with United’s Ghanaian striker, Wilson Andoh, in the eighth minute of the contest at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium and was taken to the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital (BMH), Port Harcourt.
After preliminary treatment by the two Rivers United doctors, Vincent Wachukwu and Chukwuemeka Agi, the medics at BMH took over and Gambo was back on his feet by Monday evening.
He was discharged on Tuesday morning and accompanied to the Port Harcourt International Airport by Pillars Manager, Salisu Yaro, and team doctor as they made their way back to Kano.
Rivers United Secretary, Ahmed Abdulrahman, who disclosed this to Rivers United Media, said Gambo has fully recovered and is full of gratitude for all who contributed to his rapid recovery.
“I personally drove Gambo to the Port Harcourt Airport last Tuesday alongside two other officials of Kano Pillars,” Abdulrahman confirmed.
“Their flight to Abuja from Port Harcourt was for 9am but we were at the airport before 7am.
“I just received a call from the Pillars Team Manager, Yaro, informing me that they had arrived in Abuja from where they will continue the rest of the journey to Kano.”
Abdulrahman visited Gambo at BMH on Monday in the company of Rivers United Coordinator, Bashiru Badawi, and three players, Andoh, Sunday Rotimi, and Festus Austin, the club’s captain.
