For Funke and Femi Kuti, Made is the ultimate link

The ‘loving’ picture of Funke and Femi Kuti almost took the shine off the event they both attended; the album launch party of Tunde and Wunmi Obe (T.W.O). Also, it is almost causing confusion online, as many people are already speculating and even looking forward to a reunion.

However, the meeting point for the one-time happy couple filed for divorce and eventually went their separate ways, is Made, their son.

Still unmarried, Funke went into business, while Femi, also unmarried but with five kids from other relationships, faced his musical career.

Despite this, they are very good friends who relate very well and, according to Funke, ‘talk on common things’. One of the common things, obviously, is Made.

On her 40th birthday, Funke had revealed that the most cherished thing she has is her son who cannot be compared to any joy or happiness.

Speaking about Made, Femi said, “I love Made. All my life was circled around Made; so if Funke had gone with Made, maybe I would have committed suicide, because everything in my life in that marriage was based on Made.”

Funke had ruled out marriage ‘for now’ some two years ago because “marriage and men are out of my agenda now”.

“I am totally focused on taking my business to greater heights. Talks of marriage and men, for me, at this point are a distraction,” she said.

Last year, Femi responded to a question on the possibility of their reunion thus “I doubt it. But you never know. You never know what God has in plan for you. What if you say never and something just happens?”

From all indications, speculators should just hold their breath and not tempt fate because what Made has joined, nobody (or divorce papers) should put asunder.
