Nigeria women’s Under-17 football team, the Flamingos will face United States in the quarter final of the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup currently going on in the Dominican Republic.
This was confirmed following the conclusion of the group stage fixtures on Thursday morning.
North Korea defeated England 4-0 in their final game to qualify for the last-8 and will now face Poland.
Kenya on the other hand won 2-1 against Mexico, but both teams failed to progress to the knock-out stage.

European representative, Poland, played a 0-0 draw with Brazil last night to qualify for the quarter final stage as they finished in second position in Group D behind leaders, Japan.
Nigeria booked their place in the last 8 after defeating hosts, Dominican Republic 1-0 on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, headcoach of the USA team, Katie Schoepfer, is looking to strike perfection ahead of their quarter final clash with Nigeria at Estadio Cibao, Santiago de Los Caballeros, on Saturday.
The gaffer made this known after her team overran South Korea 5-0 in their last Group A match on Tuesday.
“I still think there are a few things we need to clean up that can get us to a next level and get us even better, but we looked very good against a very good opponent, so it’s a credit to the players,” she said in a post-match press conference cited by FIFA.com.
Nigeria are one of the few teams to have finished the group phase with a 100 per cent record, whitewashing New Zealand and Ecuador 4-1 and 4-0 in their first and second matches, respectively, before edging past the Dominican Republic.
