He died after battling internal injuries he sustained from the fatal assault. But Dowen College claimed the injuries were caused by a fall during a football match, the father of the boy revealed.

That statement is now haunting Dowen College because the injuries do not match the type a lad playing soccer could suffer.

Perrie Oromoni, a cousin of the deceased, tweeting via his handle,@Perrisonoromoni, alleged that no fewer than five SS2 students of Dowen College assaulted his brother because he refused to join their cult.

He said his brother, while on hospital bed, provided the names of the Dowen College boys to his family.  They were minors, hence can’t be published.

According to him, the boys were easy to identify because Oromoni’s sister, who also is a student of Dowen College, knows them.

He said the sister of the deceased confirmed the identities of the alleged bullies.

Perrie said it was unlikely for a child in pain to lie about those who inflicted the injuries on him.

He also explained how Dowen College tried to cover up the incident.

“We’re from Delta State, but he goes to a boarding school in Lekki. They called my uncle that his son was injured when he was playing football. Reaching the hospital, it was confirmed that he was being bullied and beaten up, causing internal damages,” the relative disclosed.

“After tests and X-rays, it was confirmed he was beaten up badly. He died yesterday (Tuesday) morning, and his entire body was swollen,” he said.

On Twitter, Nigerians have been expressing outrage and demanding justice for the young Oromoni.
