Fika monarch confers traditional title on Yobe APC chairman, others

Emir of Fika and the Chairman, Council of Chiefs, Yobe State, Dr. Muhammadu Ibn Abali Muhammad Idrissa, has conferred on the state Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Adamu Chillariye, with a traditional title of Shettima Kuwama of Fika.

Others honoured by the monarch include Alhaji Tasiu Gambo, the immediate past permanent member of the Yobe State Universal Basic Education Board (UBE), who was appointed as Wambai of Fika.

The appointments were contained in a statement by Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, the Special Assistant, Media, to the Emir. All the appointments take immediate effect.

Abubakar said that the Fika Emirate Council, Potiskum, decided to confer the title on them following their good contributions for the development of the Emirate and people of the state.

“We confer them with these titles for the great support given to the traditional institutions across the state.

“It is part of the tradition of this Emirate to honour leaders and people of the Emirate who contributed to the development of the Emirate and entire state ‘’,he said.

During a visit to the Emir, the new Wambai of Fika, Alhaji Tasiu Gambo, expressed gratitude to the Emirate for the honour and recorgnition. He pledged continued support and cooperation to the Emirate.

His words:

“We ever remain grateful and thankful to the emirate for the honour given to us. We assure you that we would continue to work for the development of the Emirate and the people”.
