FG disowns circulating ambassadorial nominees’ list, says it’s fake

FG also urged the general public to disregard claims on appointments of ambassadorial nominees

The President Ahmed Bola Tinubu-led administration on Sunday distanced itself from the list of ambassadorial nominees currently circulating on social media, saying it is “fake”

This was disclosed via a statement  issued by the acting spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa.

According to the ministry, it is the prerogative of President Tinubu to appoint ambassadors, and he yet to make such appointments.

The FG further urged the general public to disregard claims on appointments of ambassadorial nominees.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform the general public to kindly disregard the fake list of ambassadorial nominees, which is currently in circulation on some social media platforms.

“The Ministry wishes to state unequivocally that the appointment of ambassadors is the prerogative of Mr. President, and no such appointments have been made in that regard.

“The purported list should, therefore, be discountenanced,” the statement read.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry was reacting to trending online reports that the FG has released a list of ambassadorial nominees.
