A lot of football fans have asked Gabon striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, to leave West London club, Chelsea and move to La Liga outfit, Atletico Madrid, after reports linking him to the Spanish club in the January window emerged.

The former Arsenal captain has struggled for playing time under ex-Brighton coach, Graham Potter and fans believe it is time he left Stamford Bridge.

On Tuesday, reports emerged from Spain that the La Liga outfit have named the 33-year-old Aubameyang as a possible target to replace Joao Felix, who is being linked with a 6-month loan deal to Chelsea.

He last featured for the Blues in the 1-0 league defeat against Premier League leaders, Manchester City on January 5, when he came on for the injured Raheem Sterling but was later withdrawn for Omari Giraud-Hutchinson in the 68th minute.

Fans have now wadded into the reports linking Aubameyang to Atletico, as they took to social media to encourage the striker to return to Spain to revive his career, insisting he stands no chance under Potter.

A netizen, Joseph Quaye said: “Aubameyang came to Chelsea because of Thomas Tuchel, but sadly, Tuchel was sacked. Potter hasn’t treated Auba fair at all. He has to leave and find a place where he will be adored.”

Another football fan, Raksi Gabor wrote: “Potter doesn’t know how to use Aubameyang. He prefers Havertz to feature upfront, but no results.”

While Ke Fusi Motaung said: “He did very well during his loan spell at Barcelona. If he goes to Atletico, Barcelona might live to regret it. He is a great finisher when surrounded by great passers of the ball.”

However, while some fans advised him to move to Spain, others argued that the Gabon international does not have the required work ethic to get into Diego Simeone’s team.

A netizen identified as @Selwie, wrote: “Auba will not survive under Simeone. This guy simply does not have the work ethic to work under Diego Simeone.”

Another internet user, Manjo Zeno Lendzemo added: “And you think he can survive Diego Simeone’s pressure? If he was that good he would’ve done well in Chelsea, Simeone wants players with intensity in which Aubameyang is not one, the Jao Felix was struggling though.”
