Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the buzz on social media over the outfit of his party’s vice-presidential candidate Kashim Shettima at the opening ceremony of the Nigerian Bar Association’s annual general conference on Monday.

For many social media users, Shettima, a former banker, and former Borno State Governor who represented the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, at the NBA conference, looked awkward in an oversize blazer on a pair of sneakers.

One Twitter user @General_Oluchi wrote: “Atiku’s suit is clean and he looks well put together at the conference. Shettima should collect the phone number of Atiku’s designer. Shettima should have worn agbada, an outfit he feels more comfortable in.”

Many have recreated a photo of Shettima seating with his jacket buttoned up.

“Instead of appreciating the brilliance and profundity of his passion, eloquence, intellect, knowledge and delivery some are obsessing about his suit, tie and shoes!” he wrote.

Fani-Kayode added that Shettima did the APC proud with his performance.

“Congrats to my friend and brother His Excellency Senator Kashim Shettima, Nigeria’s incoming Vice President, for a superlative performance at the NBA conference yesterday! You did us proud!” he added.
