Afrobeats singer and rapper, Folarin Falana better known as Falz has explained why he and his father, Femi Falana approached the court to seek redress after popular social media influencer, Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan allegedly defamed them.
In an audio shared by Verydarkman in September 2024, it was alleged that Falz and his dad contacted Bobrisky and promised to help him obtain a presidential pardon for N10 million after he was sentenced to 6months in prisonmemt.
Following the accusation, Falz slammed a lawsuit on the activist, demanding a retraction of the viral-audio within 24 hours.
Since then many Nigerians have taken to various social media platforms to criticize Falz and his dad for taking VeryDarkMan to court.

Speaking with music executive, Adesope Olajide in a latest interview, Falz said everything VeryDarkMan said in the audio message are lies.
He further emphasized that his father has always dedicated his life to standing up for the oppressed.
The singer also denied rumours that a judge ordered VeryDarkMan to pay him and his dad the sum of N500 million, saying the court only ordered him to pull down the video where he allegedly defamed them.
He also clarified that while defamation has a criminal aspect, he chose not to pursue that route in court.
He went on to say since Verydarkman has shown he has a knack for making trouble, he is willing to show him that he has the capacity to match him.
