Italian Journalist, Fabrizio Romano who initially refuted reports that league leaders, Arsenal, have sent in a second bid for Brighton’s midfielder, Moises Caicedo, has now confirmed the news.

The Gunner had earlier submitted £60million to Brighton for the services of the Ecuador international but the Seagulls rejected the bid, saying the player was not up for sale.

However, football expert, Fabrizio Romano provided an exclusive update on the Moises Caicedo transfer saga, saying he is not aware of any new bids from Arsenal.

He wrote: “Despite reports to the contrary, I’m not aware of second Arsenal bid submitted on Saturday, let’s see on Sunday what happens.

“The last bid was the one I mentioned on Friday: £60m, rejected. Brighton insist they want to keep Caicedo, not an easy one.”

He tweeted: “Arsenal submitted new bid for Moises Caicedo. Understand it’s worth £70m package add-ons included.

“Brighton don’t want to sell the player, stance very clear after £60m opening bid rejected — but Arsenal try again as Caicedo wants the move.”

Meanwhile, Sky Sports has reported that Arsenal’s fresh £70m bid for midfielder Moises Caicedo has been rejected by Brighton, as they insisted the midfielder is not for sale in January.
