Tanker full loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise called Petrol, has fallen down near the popular The Place Restaurant, at Abule Ado axis of Satellite Town, Lagos. The contents of the overturned truck are already gushing out, throwing residents and business owners in the area into confusion.
Distraught residents are calling on Lagos Fire Service to come to their assistance before it results to fire outbreak or explosion. Accidents involving Tankers, Trailers and other articulated vehicles are come on that stretch, because of many Tank Farms near the Ijegun Jetty. The situation is further worsened by the bad state of the only road in the area. There is also no functional fire service in the Satellite, leaving residents stranded in the event of fire outbreak.
In March last year, gas explosion ripped through the Soba side of Abule Ado, leaving scores dead and more than 50 houses destroyed.
