ImagePro Consulting Chief Executive Officer, Evelyn Paul, a personal branding expert, wants rebranding of public schools and teachers factored into the solution to Nigeria’s educational problem.
Quoting Nelson Mandela’s dictum, she reiterated that “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” at a programme organised for Lagos public school teachers by ImagePro in collaboration with Gold Crest Family Centre.
“As part of its corporate social responsibility, ImagePro Consulting has trained over 300 public school teachers (primary and secondary) in Lagos State on personal image branding at the teachers’ training workshop,” Paul disclosed.
She said ImagePro believes that Nigeria’s educational system will improve if public school teachers are re-orientated through personal branding and on how polishing their image can help them succeed in all areas of life.
The session was both revealing and rewarding, as the teachers realised that their image affects students’ perception of them, students’ performance, their productivity, promotion, et cetera.
Some of them confirmed that the personal branding training made them feel renewed and electrified. They pledged to help change the image of public schools in their local areas.
They said they will henceforth project confidence, energy, credibility, competitiveness, and professionalism in their image and communication.
The teachers recommended the training for other groups of government employees across the country.
