Everton dented Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League (UCL) aspirations on Saturday night after defeating them 3-0 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The home side dominated the early exchanges and eventually opened the scoring in the 33rd minute through Beto, who beat Fofana to the ball before lifting it over Sanchez first-time with the outside of his boot.
At half-time, Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior attempted to improve his team’s play by introducing Alejandro Garnacho in place of Gusto.

However, it was Beto who celebrated again, doubling the lead with a powerful strike that squeezed past Sanchez following a superb interception and 30-yard run upfield from midfielder Idrissa Gueye.
Iliman Ndiaye then curled a sensational third into the top corner late on to secure a dominant 3-0 victory for the Toffees.
With the win, the Merseyside club move up to seventh in the Premier League, strengthening their push for European football.
Meanwhile, Everton now sit just two points behind sixth-placed Chelsea, who are now at risk of missing out on UCL qualification.
