EU invites Ekpa for audience over petition from BRGIE

Biafran Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE), whose arrowhead is Simon Ekpa, has been invited for an audience with the European Union (EU) upon receipt of a petition from BRGIE seeking a referendum on carving Biafra out of Nigeria.
Ekpa, a lawyer who is based in Finland, also sent the petition to the United Nations, the United States, and the International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague.
And he submitted over 200 documents to Finnish President Sauli Niinistö.
The EU requested an audience with BRGIE in a letter which Ekpa published.
“Today, we have received acknowledgement from the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union; they further invited us for more consultations and gave us more directives on the next step,” Ekpa added in a note, per reporting by Daily Post.
“Remember, petitioned the European Union over Biafra Exit as the only solution for lasting peace. The fight for Biafra’s freedom is public; certain information will always be made public, while confidential information about our freedom remains confidential. Just to keep Biafrans updated.”

Obi to negotiate with IPOB if elected President
Biafran and other separatist agitators will be brought to a negotiating table where their concerns about justice and fairness will be addressed for an equitable Nigeria, Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi promised earlier this year, if he wins the Presidency.
Obi, now challenging the result of the election at the tribunal in a case he hopes to win, stressed at his stump at All Saints Cathedral Field in Onitsha in January that Aso Rock is not a retirement home and Nigeria needs a stingy leader at the moment.
He said he owes no one any apology for being stingy, adding he is the youngest, the fittest, and the most qualified for President among the four leading contestants.
Datti Baba-Ahmed, his running mate, told the crowd he joined the Obi ticket because of Obi’s belief in justice, equality, and fairness.
He asked Nigerians to hold them responsible if they fail in their promises, insisting the ballot on 25 February was as good as won once all Obidients voted en mass for the LP ticket.
Before the rally in Onitsha, Obi met with Anambra Traditional Rulers and other stakeholders at Government House, Awka he once occupied as Governor.
“The Presidency is not about turn, but about capacity because if it is about turn, people like us would insist that it is our turn and should be considered.
“The job of a President is not a retirement home or for any kind of settlement but about uniting and rebuilding the country,” he told the massive crowd in Onitsha.
“They said that I am a stingy man and I say they didn’t say that I am extravagant or that I embezzled public funds, only that I am stingy, and I tell you the job and the Presidency of our country needs a stingy person.”
