The flying Antelopes, Enugu Rangers have won the 2023-24 Nigeria Premier Football League title after defeating Bendel Insurance 2-0 at ‘The Cathedral’, the Nnamdi Azikwe stadium in Enugu on Sunday evening.
The ‘Flying Antelopes’ claim the title with a game to spare following Remo Stars’ 2-1 loss in Akure to their host, Sunshine Stars.
Kenechukwu Augustine Agu fired Rangers ahead on 33 minutes and the points were savef in the second half when Chidiebere Nwobodo netted the second goal to secure the Flying Antelopes 20th win of the season and the league ttile.
The results moved Rangers to an unassailable 67 points from 37 games, five more than Remo Stars who are second (62 points) and Enyimba of Aba who lost 2-1 at Sporting Lagos.
Remo Stars, Enyimba and Shooting Stars will now fight for the second point on the final day of the season.
Remo Stars will host Katsina United in Ikenne, Enyimba will host Plateau United while Shooting Stars will also play host to Sporting Lagos.
There was jubilation in the Eastern Nigeria as Rangers Fans jubilate till Monday morning for Rangers Victory they described as well deserved.
