#Endsars Broadcast: Buhari didn’t show strength in leadership, says Ubani

Former 2nd vice President of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Onyekachi Ubani has observed that President Buhari’s nationwide broadcast on Thursday, lacked strength in leadership and didn’t show enough empathy for protesting and slain Nigerian Youths.
Speaking in a radio chat (Nigeria Infor fm) on Friday,  Ubani who was full of expectations on the broadcast to offer solutions to lingering crisis occasioned by EndSARS protest, expressed disappointment and regretted the time wasted during the broadcast.
“I can tell you, I was terribly disappointed after missing my dinner last night to watch the broadcast which in my opinion lacks leadership and empathy”
Ubani said he  was anxious to hear President Buhari make reference to the Lekki Toll gate killings, but to his amazement, nothing was said about it by a president who supposed to be the father of the Nation.
Ubani faulted the aspect of the speech where the President said “Accepting Youths demands should not be misconstrued as a sign of weakness”
To him, “Mr. President should not have mentioned weakness in his broadcast in matters that refer to conceding to demands from citizens.  In this regard, Mr.President should not have said weakness, whereas it would have  been a show of strength in leadership.
The speech writer erred and should not have inserted that clause ‘weakness’ in the speech”.
Ubani however insisted that  the Nigeria Youth have made an impact through #Endsars protest which the President rightly acknowledged.
He advised the Youths to organize themselves into political parties, register and collect their voters cards and be ready to vote candidates of their choice in the next election.

He also pleaded with the Youths to tolerate the president within the remaining three years left before his term elapses.
