One of Nigeria’s longest ruling and influential monarchs, Emir of Zazzau, Shehu Idris, has passed on.
He died on Sunday at the age of 84.
Zauzzau is an emirate in the Northwestern state of Kaduna.

The monarch spent 45 years on the throne having been installed in 1975 at the relatively young age of 36.
A palace source who confirmed the news to TheNiche on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to talk on the incident said the monarch died at the Army 44 Reference Hospital in Kaduna earlier today.
The Kaduna State government has also been officially notified.
The burial arrangements is yet to be made public.
