Both come to the table of knowledge with incredible résumé.

In an increasingly complex world, analysts with international exposure are needed to interpret and give meaning to not only national but also global happenings and Ms. Onubogu and Dr. Nwankwo have the gravitas to do just that.

Elsie-Bernadette Onubogu, an International lawyer specializing in the areas of gender, peacekeeping and development, is an independent consultant, public policy and mainstreaming expert.

An erstwhile Senior Policy Advisor with the United Nations, she investigated war crimes, rape and sexual assault as part of her work with the UN International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.

She served as a Senior Gender, Peace and Governance Expert with the Commonwealth, and was appointed in 2015 by the UK Government to serve as a deployable civilian expert.

A trailblazer in global diplomacy, she holds the distinction of being the first Nigerian woman invited to address the United Nations Security Council on issues of International Peace and Security.

She will bring to bear on her column – What I know for sure – which debuts on Saturday, September 27, 2025, over 20 years of distinctive blend of legal expertise, investigative rigour and strategic policy leadership.

In the same vein, Dr. Nwankwo, former Director-General of the Debt Management Office (DMO), will dissect Nigeria’s developmental dynamics through poetry.

A one-time journalist, lecturer and banker, Nwankwo, a renowned economist was also Senior Advisor to the Executive Director (African Region), at the World Bank.

His column which also debuts on Saturday, September 27, with the title, Treasures in Truth will unpack some of Nigeria’s myriad problems and proffer solutions maximizing the subtlety of poems.
