Election postponement: Popular figures react

Popular Nigerian figures have reacted severally to the postponement of the elections by INEC.

Musicians, actors and actresses, etc have one thing to say about the postponement – bash INEC for shelving the elections it had four years to prepare for.

“Regretting any inconvenience” is not the same as saying “I understand the inconvenience and disruption that our decision has caused and I am sorry.” The statement from the Chair of @inecnigeria is, again, not good enough. It’s not good enough!

You don’t wait till hours before the polls – when millions of people were committed to it by traveling and making plans around – when you could have done same weeks and months before. I have exams on the 23rd for starters. Some probably have weddings. Flights. This is a MESS!

I just lost a dear friend yesterday. He died on his way to his hometown in Akwanga – he was heading to perform his civic duty. if he only knew that @inecnigeria would cancel the elections, he wouldn’t have travelled. Who knows He might still have been alive today. #RIPJerry ??
