“For Jonathan to accept defeat when he lost his second-term presidential ambition to Buhari, he has saved Nigeria from post-election violence and bloodshed.

“The acceptance of the defeat does not only save Nigeria from post-election crisis but it also gave Jonathan a high level of respect from all Nigerians and even the international community

“This shows that Jonathan is a true democrat, who has the interest of Nigerians at heart and we will continue to pray for him and other elected leaders to enable them to succeed.

“I also want to call on all stakeholders and other Nigerians to do everything possible to be at peace, because no nation can achieve development without peace, which is not negotiable.”

Jibrin expressed optimism that the PDP would bounce back in the future and urged the supporters of the party to unite and embrace one another, irrespective of their backgrounds.
