Former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai on Monday said he and President Bola Tinubu never really got along while he was a member of the ruling All Progressives Party (APC), claiming that the Nigerian’s number one citizen didn’t like him.
He made this known during an interview on Arise Television programme, ‘Prime Time’.
The former APC chieftain also noted that he was closer to mmediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari, adding that he was his “boy”.
Speaking further during the chat, the former Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister under President Olusegun Obasanjo’s government, also disclosed that he was more cordial with former governor of Osun State and close associate of President Tinubu, Bisi Akande.

He said, “Bola Tinubu never really liked me, but we never really got along. In the party, I was Buhari’s boy.
“The person I got along with was Baba Akande.”
El-Rufai went on to assert that he knew the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), under the leadership of Prof Yakubu Mahmoud will not register a new political party.
He further drew a comparison between the incumbent INEC chairman and his predecessor, Attahiru Jega, under whose leadership the APC was registered.
