Ekiti Reps members-elects berate APC lawmakers, counsel in-coming assembly members

-

Elected House of Representatives members from Ekiti State have  described as shameful and despicable, the failed plot by the All Progressives Congress (APC) members of the State House of Assembly to impeach the governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose.

The six Reps members-elect, who also admonished the members of the 5th Assembly that Will be inaugurated on Friday, added that only loyalty to the State and the Fayose-led government will ensure peace, progress and development of the State.

In a statement signed by the six Reps members-elect, Ayo Oladimeji, Segun Adekola, Akin Awodumila, Olamide Oni, Thaddeus Aina and Kehinde Agboola, the APC lawmakers were told to go and seek forgiveness from God for throwing Ekiti into chaos in their desperate bid to snatch
power from the person duly elected by the people.

The lawmakers-elect who are all members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it was alarming that the APC will always want Ekiti State to collapse each time the PDP takes power, adding that; “if former President Goodluck Jonathan had behaved the way the APC people
in Ekiti State are behaving, Nigeria would be in crisis by now.”

They said; “First and foremost, how could sane people who were elected to make laws in Ekiti hole themselves up in faraway Oshogbo, in Osun State thinking that they can just enter Ekiti in a Gestapo manner to impeach the governor?

“Again, is impeachment of a State governor an exercise that can be done in four days? And does it make sense that they wanted the governor and his deputy impeached the same time?

“What they embarked on was clearly a war against Ekiti people and we thank the people for rising up in defence of their mandate.”

While admonishing the in-coming lawmakers in the State to learn from the way the APC lawmakers ended their tenure in ignominy, the National Assembly members-elect said they should always remember the ladder with which they climbed to the House of Assembly.

“The in-coming lawmakers have seen how the APC lawmakers ended their tenure in shame. They should learn from this and remain loyal to the State and the governor, on whose back they rode to the House of Assembly,” they said.
