.Urges party leaders to unite for victory
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has congratulated the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Guber primary election in Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
In a statement in Lokoja through his Director General of Media and Publicity, Kingsley Fanwo, the governor hailed the peaceful and orderly conduct of the primary election, saying, “APC is setting democratic standards for others to follow.
“In Ekiti State, we have set another democratic standard for others to follow by conducting a free, fair and credible primary election to pick our party’s candidate ahead of the July governorship election in the state.
“I congratulated my brother, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, for his victory. I also congratulate all the aspirants, who put up a spirited fight for the ticket of the party. Our party has won the ticket and now, our party must go ahead to win the governorship of Ekiti State.
“Let me also thank my brother and leader, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency, Alhaji Tanko Al-Makura, for doing our party proud by being fair to all. The Committee did a fantastic job that is worthy of emulation.”
Bello said all hands must be on deck to make the party victorious in the upcoming election in the state.
“We are through with the first hurdle. It is time we went back to the trenches as a united family and party stalwarts to see Fayemi’s victory in the governorship election as victory for our great party, the All Progressives Congress.
“Our campaign must be devoid of violence and brigandage but we must be unrelenting in selling our party manifesto to the good people of Ekiti State. Our party did it in Ondo State and we are ready to do it in Ekiti State.”
Bello urged Fayemi to reach out to all aspirants and party leaders to face the election with a “formidable, unbeatable and indomitable force,” saying APC has always been popular in Ekiti State.
