-

The president of Association of Nigeria Licence Customs Agent (ANLCA), Iju Tony Nwabunike, has joined Muslims operating in the maritime and aviation sector in celebrating the 2020 EID EL KABIR.

He said that the ceremony was a symbolic occasion.

According to a goodwill message by Nwabunike to Nigeria Muslim Customs brokers and Freight forwarders, the event came with very symbolic messages capable of reinforcing their faith in the Almighty Allah and strengthening their beliefs in His unseen but felt helping hands at all times.

His words: ‘“Your sacrifices which symbolise total obedience to our Creator’s directives have become  acceptable standards as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim who moved to sacrifice his son without querying Allah until an alternative sacrifice was provided.

“Most of you have shown love for our country and the maritime, aviation, general transport and total logistics industries through selfless commitment to our Importation dependent economy by being out there working as essential service providers even in the face of lockdown in the wake of the Covid19 pandemic.

“You have kept the economy moving, contributing to government revenue, helping to sustain employment and keeping the cycle of commerce moving while abiding by safety precautions as advised by National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC)”.

He also added that as Customs brokers and freight forwarders, they contributed immensely to the realisation of over N500 billion half year revenue collection by Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and ensured goods arrived importers warehouses after exiting the ports through seamless logistics.
