The Egyptian sports community received sad news yesterday evening, Wednesday, of the death of Ahmed Amin, goalkeeper of the Rabat and Al-Anwar club, who is active in the third division.

And the club’s official page published the news of the death of the 23-year-old team player.

Yalla Koura contacted Islam Ezzat, a member of the club’s board of directors, to ask him about what happened, and he said: “Ahmed is one of the best guards among the team. He attended yesterday’s training naturally, and also finished the training session naturally.”

He continued, “After entering the locker room, he fell unconscious, so his colleagues rushed him to Al-Zohor Hospital, but he breathed his last minutes later.”

He added: “I advise the players, they should drink enough water, at least 4 liters per day, it may be that Amin neglected to drink water, which caused him to suffer a sharp drop in blood circulation.”

On the other hand, Yalla Koura contacted a person close to Amin and said: “Ahmed felt pain 10 days ago, and he went to the doctor to check his condition, especially since he was repeatedly fainting.”

He continued, “The doctor misdiagnosed him and told him that he suffers from gastroesophageal reflux disease.”

He continued, “Ahmed told him to undergo an echocardiogram, but the doctor told him that it was not necessary.”

He continued: “On the day of his death, he trained intensively and felt pain, so he sat on the bench to take a break, but soon he fell unconscious.”

And he concluded: “His club called for an ambulance, but the matter was over and he passed away.”

Amin previously played in the ranks of Electricity Ismailia, Al-Marikh, Derb Negm, Sharqiya Zagazig, Rabat and Al-Anwar.

It is worth noting that Amin’s death comes a few hours after the death of Makhlid Al-Raqadi, a player for Muscat Oman Club, minutes before the start of his team’s match against Al-Suwaiq. Watch the following video for details:
