EFCC operatives were deployed to the State to prevent vote buying which characterised the Ekiti State gubernatorial election in June

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have reportedly been deployed to some towns in Osun State where the gubernatorial election is currently taking place.
As of 8:15am on Saturday, the operatives were seen at the Freedom Park, Old Garage, Osogbo, the State capital
They were also seen at Iragbiji, the hometown of Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Ede, the home town of his major challenger, Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
In Iragbiji, the headquarters of Boripe Local Government Area, about six officials who wore jackets of the anti-graft agency were noticed at Ward 1, Unit 1, St Peter’s Anglican School, Iragbiji, where the Governor voted.

The men who were not actively involved in the exercise like the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials and security agencies deployed for the exercise were seen observing the proceedings at the point unit.
Similarly, EFCC operatives were also sighted at the polling unit of the governorship candidate of the PDP at PU9, Ward 2, Abogunde/Sage in Ede North Local government area of Osun State.
