EFCC, police dodge arresting children of Okoya Thomas caught on camera abusing Naira

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigeria Police Force have failed to effect the arrest of children of Rasak Okoya Thomas caught on camera abusing Naira.
Although a policeman seen in the video holding bunch of Naira notes for the lads was arrested, the real culprits have been walking free. This has raised concerns on why the EFCC is mute on this particular case but hawkish when it involved people with lesser political connection.
Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky spent six months in jail after confessing to abusing Naira.
On X, Nigerians have bared their minds on the protection the children of Okoya Thomas are enjoying.
@DanielRegha said: “The police officer “in a viral video of Wahab and Raheem Okoya” has been arrested, but what about Chief Okoya’s sons? Or they’re above the law @PoliceNG? Or need I remind you of the Section 21 of the CBN Act (2007) which condemns the spraying of Naira notes which was clearly done in the same video. Let’s not also forget that the officer was holding the naira notes for the Okoya’s. No-one should be above the law. @officialEFCC.”
@Mazi_OJD said: “Random policeman detained for appearing in a video where “Sons of Chief Okoya…we’re abusing the Naira” No word on the Okoyas, but a detention for the policeman. Rule of law only exists occasionally.”
Even X Community Notes weighed on the matter, saying: “The actual culprits in this misdemanor, Siraheem and Wahab Okoya, the sons of Razaq and Shade Okoya, are walking free.”
