Nigerian Afrobeats singer and lead rapper for the defunct hip hop boy band ‘The Remedies’, Turayo Abdulkareem Ajenifuja, aka Eedris Abdulkareem has described comment of colleague, Burna Boy on his 2022 surgery as ” saddening”.

The veteran rapper in the incoming podcast lambasted the ‘Last Last’ crooner for claiming no Nigerian artiste helped him while coming up.

Responding, Burna Boy via his X handle, blamed those who settled Abdulkareem’s hospital bills when he underwent a kidney transplant in 2022.

He tweeted in Pidgin: “Abdul Kareem abi wettin dem dey call your papa, I no blame you. I blame people wey donate money for your hospital bills. And I wish say you be person wey fit dey enter the kind places wey I dey, make we use mistake jam.”

He went on to say, “I will reply through the only medium that I have… and that is music; so I will be dropping my heartfelt response via a single aptly named ‘Essay to Burna Boy’ in a fortnight.”

Meanwhile, another Nigerian singer, Jaywon has waded into the rift between Eedris Abdulkareem and Burna Boy.

Speaking on the back and forth between the duo, the artiste asserted that Abdulkareem has contributed a lot to the Nigerian music industry and deserved commendations but for his arrogance, adding that Burna Boy is toeing the same path.

Speaking via his X handle, Jaywon tweeted: “Eedris has contributed a lot to the Nigerian music industry, was he applauded for that, NO and it was all because of his arrogant behaviour and that’s exactly what Burna too is doing so when I say ‘what goes around comes around’ is actually for the both of them! Las las everybody go collect. Na just time!”
