Two female goalkeepers from the French league and one from England joined Édouard Mendy and others in the women category

World football governing body, FIFA has pruned down the list of goalkeepers nominated for the best goalkeepers in 2021 in the men and women categories to three each.
The winner will be chosen by an international jury comprising a panel of FIFA Legends and registered fans across the world on FIFA’s official website.
The final three nominees for The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper are Gianluigi Donnarumma of Italy and Paris Saint-Germain, Édouard Mendy of Senegal, and Chelsea and Manuel Neuer of Germany and FC Bayern München.

While the final three nominees for the female category are Ann-Katrin Berger of Germany and Chelsea, Christiane Endler of Chile and Olympique Lyonnais and Stephanie Lynn Marie Labbé of Canada and Paris Saint-Germain.
Blues stopper Édouard Mendy, who is currently on international assignment with Senegal at African Cup of Nation (AFCON) in Cameroon, will go head-to-head with Manuel Neuer and Gianluigi Donnarumma in a bid to win the prize.
Manuel Neuer currently holds the title and will be hoping to defend it. Mendy had a brilliant season in the year under review, winning the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup while finishing runner-up in the FA Cup as well.
Donnarumma on the other hand, had an incredible summer with Italy at the Euros, beating the Three Lions of England to lift the trophy at Wembley.
The virtual awards ceremony will take place in Zurich on 17th January and it will be broadcast live from the Home of FIFA.
Meanwhile, FIFA on Tuesday also announced the final three nominees for the Puskás Award 2021.
The three finalists for the Puskas Best Goal award, which is the prize for the best goal for that year are Erik Lamela, Patrik Schick, and Mehdi Taremi.
