Edo State AthIetics boss, Edokpaiye assures of support, craves for sustained sports growth

The Edo State AthIetics Association Chairman engineer Dele Edokpaiye has assured individuals, sponsors committed in assisting the association in providing grassroots AthIetics competition of measured support to sustain it.

Eng. Edokpaiye, a golfer and lover of arts, a committed businessman and an astitute politician said this after he witnessed the recently concluded 3rd edition of Princess Mabel Madojiemu U-15 AthIetics Championships in Edo State.

The Edo AthIetics Associations boss noted with relish that since individuals based abroad could be patriotic enough to assist their home state in providing grassroots competitions to discover young talents, nothing would stop him from assisting such individuals.

“I can understand what it takes to sponsor and organize competitions in this hard times, but since I have not organised one, my place would be to assist those who were able to do something in that direction to move our sports forward”

According to him, Edo State is blessed with young talents, “and I can’t thank enough the likes Princess Mabel Madojiemu, the Eyoto AthIetics foundation and others that have shown enough commitment in coming home to provide competitions for the young and talented ones.”

He, however, assured that Edo State sports would continue to develop more if the current tempo is maintained with Olympian and Chairman of Edo State Sports Commission Yusuf Ali remains on the saddle moving forward.

Eng. Edokpaiye however thanked coaches, AthIetes schools, sponsors in Edo State for their support for sports development in the state
