Governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki, yesterday, received the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms purchased for him by Edo State APC caucus in the National Assembly and market women, appealing to his co-aspirants to see the contest as a brotherly one and not a war.
Presenting the forms to Obaseki at his campaign office, the leader of Edo State APC caucus in the National Assembly, Senator Francis Alimekhena, said they decided to purchase the form for Obaseki because “We believe he is the right person who will fit into the shoes of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
Accepting the form, Obaseki said: “I thank our members in the National Assembly and everyone who contributed in purchasing this form for me to contest the governorship election in Edo State. I thank former chairmen, market women and the Obaseki family for their contribution. I want to assure you that I will not disappoint you.
“I want to assure you that I will continue the good work Oshiomhole has started, by the time we finish in eight years time, Edo State will not be the same again.”
