Manchester City goalkeeper, Ederson has admitted that the decision of Brazil Interim coach, Ramon Menezes not to call up Liverpool goalkeeper, Alisson, for the match against Morocco during March international break came as a shock to him.

Alisson, who was in goal for most of Brazil’s matches during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar and Ederson are long-time rivals for the Brazil goalkeeping spot.

There were many surprise omissions from the squad but the decision to leave out Alisson, who has been his country’s first-choice keeper since around 2016, raised a lot of queries.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the friendly game against Morocco Ederson said: “The first moment I saw the list I was surprised, but it’s the coach’s decision. They are choices, I thought he would be on the list, but he was not,”
