Former Union Berlin striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, has joined Premier League (PL) newcomers, Nottingham Forest, on a five-year deal.
The 24-year-old Nigerian international was linked with a host of other Premier League clubs but opted to sign for the newly-promoted club which has a good PL history but has not played top-flight football for over 2 decades.
Awoniyi, who was impressive for Union Berlin in the last Bundesliga campaign was quoted by Nottingham Forest’s official website to have expressed joy at joining the club.

He also attributed his decision to ply his trade at the English club to their gaffer, Steve Cooper, who he is convinced will develop him further.
“I feel great. I feel very happy to be here. Looking at the project, it’s something I’m really looking forward to.
“My dream is to always keep working and I see him as a person who I can develop under. For me, it’s always about hard work, dedication, and believing in God.
“When I look back at the games with Union Berlin, it was always about the team for me,” Awoniyi said.
