Eagles confirm resolving differences, re-unite against France

-

The Super Eagles’ players say they have since put behind them issues that led to their boycott of training on June 26 in order to face Monday’s tough match against former world champion, France.

“It was a little discussion that was blown out of proportion,’’ said Chelsea’s Mikel Obi, who spoke to a news conference on behalf of his colleagues.

Obi had accompanied the team’s head coach Stephen Keshi to the conference.

“It was not a major issue. It was a little discussion. It happens everywhere and we have all resolved our differences in the interest of our nation.

“I agree, we had some issues which we used the opportunity provided by the discussion to seek explanations.

“The Nigeria Football Association has never owed us match bonuses. Our bonuses have never been delayed. We sought explanations to certain issues bothering us.

“The issues have all been clarified,’’ the player said.

He added that though they skipped training because the discussion lasted a little longer, they decided to carry out a review of their last match.

“We have since made up for it, we’ve training ever since then to make up for the lost training.

“We are focused on Monday’s match because we want to win it,’’ he said, noting that they were familiar with many of the players in the French side.
