Everton boss, Sean Dyche has said Nigerian midfielder, Alex Iwobi is likely to spend time on the sidelines after he sustained what looks like a hamstring injury during Sunday’s  4-0 annihilation of his team by Aston Villa.

Iwobi was replaced by Neal Maupay after he picked up an injury in the 56th minute of the encounter and was unable to continue.

The 26-year-old is expected to undergo a test on Monday (today) to ascertain the severity of the injury.

Speaking on the development, his manager, Dyche said the former Arsenal man is not likely to return to action any time soon given how he left the field.

He, however, added that he is hoping it’s just a knock, as he waits for the result of his tests.

”Alex we’re waiting on, but it looks like a hamstring injury. Dom, we’re hoping it’s just a knock,” Dyche told reporters after the game.

”With Alex, it’s unusual for hamstrings to settle down very quickly so he’s likely to be out — but I don’t know yet.” he further added.
