Drake loses £478,000 bet after Anthony Joshua defeated Ngannou

Drake had earlier lost a bet in January, after backing Sean Strickland to defend his UFC middleweight championship against Dricus Du Plessis

Canadian rapper, Aubrey Drake Graham, known mononymously as Drake continued his losing streak in combat sports yesterday after he lost a £478,000 bet on Francis Ngannou defeating Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight boxing bout held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Friday night.

Prior to the fight, Drake had revealed on his Instagram page that he was betting £478,000 on Ngannou to beat Joshua outrightly.

He wrote: “Betting on a scary man.”

The rap star was in line for a huge payday of over £1million, until the two-time world champion dispatched Ngannou in just two rounds.

Joshua delivered a devastating knockout on the former UFC champion, sending him crashing to the surface in brutal fashion and later receiving medical care in the ring before getting to his feet.

This is not the first time Drake will lose a bet, in January, the singer lost over half-a-million pounds after backing  Sean Strickland to defend his UFC middleweight championship against Dricus Du Plessis.

The 37-year-old Canadian also lost £430,000 when Israel Adesanya suffered a shock defeat against Strickland in the octagon and previously bet £700,000 on Logan Paul to beat Dillon Danis in the boxing ring.
