Chief Peter Angbazo, the District Head of Wakama Village of Nasarawa-Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has called for peaceful co-existence among Nigerians.
Angbazo made the call on Thursday in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Wakama Village.
He said that the call became imperative due to series of communal crises and other security challenges bedeviling the country.
He said that no nation could develop without peace, hence the need for all Nigerians to embrace one and other, irrespective of differences in religion, tribe or political party.
He further urged the people to intensify prayers for the restoration of peace to the North-East.
“Nigerians should not relent in offering prayers for peace in the North-East and Nigeria as the Federal Government intensifies efforts to curtail the activities of Boko haram insurgents.’’
The district head also urged parents and guardians to always monitor the activities of their children and wards, to prevent them from associating with bad company and indulging in negative activities.
“The era of allowing our children to have any type of friend is over.”
He said that children, as leaders of the tomorrow, should also be mindful of the friends they kept, adding that no society would wish to have irresponsible leaders.
He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the proactive measures he had taken toward tackling insurgency in the North-East and other security challenges in the country.
He, therefore, urged Nigerians to support the efforts of the President, to enable him to win the fight against insurgency and corruption as well as reposition the country. (NAN)
