Melaye also predicted that the recent political realignments involving Rabiu Kwankwaso and others would expose what he termed the ruling party’s “nefarious” tendencies.

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 Kogi State governorship candidate, Dino Melaye, has berated the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) following the decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to suspend recognition of factions within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He made his feelings on the action known on Wednesday in a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) page.
Earlier in the day, INEC announced that it had removed the names of David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from its official portal as National Chairman and National Secretary of the ADC, respectively.
It also stated it would not recognise Nafiu Bala Gombe, who is seeking to be declared national chairman through the courts.
INEC further disclosed that it would suspend recognition of all factions within the party and refrain from monitoring any conventions or congresses organised by the contending groups, pending the final determination of a substantive suit before the Federal High Court.
The electoral body explained that although the names of the current National Working Committee (NWC) members were uploaded on its portal on 9 September 2025, this was done after the suit had already been filed on 2 September 2025.

It noted that, in line with the court order, the names would now be removed pending the resolution of the matter.
“Since the names of the current National Working Committee members led by Senator David Mark were uploaded on 9th September 2025 by INEC (seven days after the suit was instituted), the names would be removed from the INEC portal pursuant to the order of the Court of Appeal to maintain the status quo ante bellum until the matter is decided by the trial court,” INEC said.
The commission added: “The Commission shall not receive any further communication or deal with any of the parties or groups pertaining to the affairs of the party.”
Reacting to the decision, Melaye described it as “satanic and wicked”, alleging that the APC was attempting to turn Nigeria into a one-party state.
The former Kogi West senator stated that the recent political realignments involving Rabiu Kwankwaso and others would expose what he termed the ruling party’s “nefarious” tendencies.
He added, however, that opposition figures would resist the moves.
“The movement of Kwankwaso AND others will reveal the nefarious, satanic and wicked characteristics of APC. They will do everything to turn Nigeria into a one-party state but we no go gree. All die na die,” Melaye said.
