Not until few years ago did many people start associating the creative fashion entrepreneur, Deola Sagoe, with the business tycoon, Michael Adeojo of Elizade Motors.
Although she had obtained a master’s degree in finance from the University of Lagos, she pursued her dream and passion of fashion designing, contrary to her father’s dream of her joining the family business. Her father eventually respected and supported her decision.
Sagoe is relishing in the euphoria of her three daughters (Teni, Aba and Tiwa) pursuing their dream which, fortunately, tallies with her line of business.
They have knacks in styling, colour and painting and already carving a niche for themselves in the fashion industry as they have channelled their collective fashion heritage to bring their own vision to the fore.
To encourage the girls, Deola was rebranded. According to her, there is Clan, which is a new brand of creative designs under her daughters, as well as Deola that has to do with luxury and high end.
Deola, aside supporting in terms of costume, played the role of Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti in Kunle Afolayan’s October 1. She revealed that she enjoyed the brief sojourn in Nollywood and would gladly do it again, but as a younger sexy woman.
With her strong hand down ‘gene’, it will not be a surprise to see any of her daughters acting one day.
