Human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju has commended the decision of key leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and other opposition figures to come together and form a coalition that will attempt to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

Speaking via his Facebook page, he expressed his joy over the development and specifically thanked concerned leaders of the PDP for dumping the main opposition party for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

TheNiche had earlier reported that 2023 PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, former Senate President, David Mark, former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido and other concerned leaders of the PDP dumped the party on Tuesday.

The PDP stalwarts, who adopted ADC as a platform to wrestle power from President Bola Tinubu in 2027, also called on other members of PDP to join the movement .

Reacting to the development via his verified social media handle, Adeyanju said he is happy that “PDP is finally dead”.

He went on to say the politicians ought to have formed the coalition in 2023, adding that it is not too late to do so.

“I’m proud of the opposition for coming together finally. Special thanks to Atiku, Obi and other top opposition leaders for putting aside their personal ambition to make this happen.

“I hope Kwankwaso will also do same. This is what they should have done in 2023. Whenever you wake up is your morning. Good morning to the opposition,” Adeyanju added.
