Afrobeats singer and rapper, Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, popularly known as D’banj, has revisited his split with the co-owner of the defunct record label, Mo’Hits, Michael Collins Ajereh a.k.a Don Jazzy, stating that the ace producer and music executive was the one who suggested they should part ways.

He made this known recently while appearing as a guest on the latest episode of the Mic On podcast hosted by Seun Okinbaloye.

In 2012, while announcing the Mo’Hits split, Don Jazzy cited a disagreement between himself and D’banj as the reason for ending their partnership.

However, while speaking during his interview, D’banj insisted that Don Jazzy was 100 per cent responsible for the Mo’Hits split.

He said, “If I were to go back in time, I wouldn’t have done anything differently regarding my relationship with Don Jazzy, especially since the idea to go our separate ways didn’t come from me. It came from Don Jazzy 100 per cent. And that’s why we have no issue.

“Jazzy gave me 100 per cent of my catalogue and maybe 10 other songs I have not released… It was a journey for me, even though he had his opinion, I knew that we needed to cement that global movement and I’m glad that even after, God still did it for us with ‘Oliver Twist’, which was the last record we released together.”
