Nigerian music artist, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, won the BET Awards for the Best International Act 2019 on Monday.
The Bet Award is an annual event that celebrates artists who have made outstanding achievement for the year.
Burna Boy won the Best International Act category for the 19 editions. He joinsother Nigerian artistes who won previous years under the same category. Artistes like Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, 2Baba, and DBanj
Fellow musician, Davido congratulated him for the award.
“Congrats Mi lo lo !!! U over deserve this my brother !! More to come,” Davido wrote on Twitter.
Nigerians on social media have commended the musicians for making Africa proud.
In a speech given at the event, Burna Boy’s mother, Bose Ogulu, roused the audience when she said Africans should not forget their roots.
“Remember you were Africans before you became anything else,” she said.
