Reacting to the exit of the Spaniard from Manchester United, De Gea wrote on social media, “Thought this would be a very difficult one to express into words but when I thought about it more, the main feeling I am left with is happiness,”
He added, “This guy has been a teammate, a friend, and is my family.
“I love you, my brother, I wish you everything and absolutely nothing but joy and success in your next stage of an unbelievable career,”
Manchester United had a very poor and disappointing 2021-22 season and only managed to finish 6th in the Premier League and Juan Mata only featured in a few games.
The Red Devils during the frustrating season sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, appointed Ralf Rangnick on an interim basis, and recently signed the former Ajax coach, Erik ten Hag.
